Novelics’ patented designs include breakthroughs in the fundamental methods of implementing memory circuits, including new patented bit cells and sense amplifier circuits that significantly reduce semiconductor area, reduce leakage, decrease access times and lower power consumption.

Consumers and SoC designers will benefit from Novelics memory IPs and solutions by:

  • Significantly increasing battery life through decreased system power consumption.
  • Reducing the costs of processing chips by reducing the semiconductor area required for memory by up to 60 percent and eliminating the extra mask layers and special processing steps required by competing technologies.
  • Allowing more powerful features with faster memory access time compared to the industry standard.

Novelics offers all memory technologies needed for semiconductor design in a common Web-based platform, called MemQuest™. MemQuest enables our variety of memory architectures, including SRAM-6T, SRAM-8T, SRAM-1T (approximately 45% reduction in core size in comparison with SRAM-6T), high-speed cache, ROM, and CAM, to be designed using the same tool.

The MemQuest compiler allows system architects to:

  • Evaluate their design options based on each memory block specification (e.g., area, power consumption, access time, leakage current) and various operating conditions (i.e., PVT = Process, Voltage, and Temperature).
  • Decide on how to optimize each individual block (or memory type) to achieve the most optimized solution for each particular application.

MemQuest concurrently optimizes the desired specifications and automatically generates the design models such as .V, .LIB (spice-verified), .LEF, and .GDSII as well as .NET.

Novelics IPs are available at many leading foundries in multiple geometries such as 180nm, 160nm, 152nm, 130nm, 110nm ( both Copper and aluminum for metal connectivity), 90nm, 65nm, and 55nm.

Novelics product offering includes coolSRAM-1T, coolSRAM-6T, coolSRAM-8T, coolREG, coolROM, and coolCAM.
